چکیده
Purpose: The aim of the study was to examine relationship white matter hyperintensities (WMHs) and measurements corpus callosum (CC) with migraine characteristics.
Materials Methods: This conducted as a case-control prospective that included 50 patients 40 individuals in control group. severity frequency headaches headache pain characteristics were questioned. effects disease determined using disability rating scale (MIDAS). WMH lesions evaluated FAZEKAS scale. Morphometric CC performed. between examined.
Results: There (44 women, 6 men) mean age 30,86±8,64 (18-51) years. multi-point WMHs higher compared no differences measured values two groups. more common nausea complaints. Measured genu lower phonophobia visual aura symptoms.
Conclusion: has revealed migraines have high rate WMHs, this is even when accompanies attacks. No relationships found migraines.

Mild Encephalopathy with Reversible Lesions in the Splenium of Corpus Callosum and Bilateral Cerebral Deep White Matter in Identical Twins
Identical twin brothers developed mild encephalopathy at the age of 7.0 and 9.7 years (Patient 1) and 10.7 years (Patient 2). Patient 1 had influenza A at the time of his second episode, but triggering agents were not evident at the first episode. The triggering agents in Patient 2 were unclear. The neurological features of both patients included transient facial numbness, left arm paresis, dys...
متن کاملDiffusion tensor imaging, white matter lesions, the corpus callosum, and gait in the elderly.
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Gait impairment is common in the elderly, especially those with stroke and white matter hyperintensities on conventional brain MRI. Diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) is more sensitive to white matter damage than conventional MRI. The relationship between DTI measures and gait has not been previously evaluated. Our purpose was to investigate the relationship between the integ...
متن کاملRelationship between periventricular or deep white matter lesions and arterial elasticity indices in very old people.
OBJECTIVE To examine the relationship between the presence of cerebral white matter lesions and large and small artery elasticity indices in a population of healthy, very old subjects. METHODS We studied 24 subjects (14 women, 10 men) with a mean age of 84+/-5 years, who were free from overt neurological, cardiovascular or psychiatric illness. We measured blood pressure and heart rate in supi...
متن کاملOrganising white matter in a brain without corpus callosum fibres.
Isolated corpus callosum dysgenesis (CCD) is a congenital malformation which occurs during early development of the brain. In this study, we aimed to identify and describe its consequences beyond the lack of callosal fibres, on the morphology, microstructure and asymmetries of the main white matter bundles with diffusion imaging and fibre tractography. Seven children aged between 9 and 13 years...
متن کاملWhite matter fMRI: Exploring functional differentiation in the corpus callosum
Introduction White matter fMRI is a controversial idea. To date, the majority of fMRI studies have focused on gray matter, largely for two reasons: 1) cerebral blood flow/volume is reduced in white matter relative to gray matter (e.g., [1, 2]); and 2) post-synaptic potentials are thought to be the primary source of the signal measured in fMRI (e.g., [3]). Despite this, a growing number of studi...
